The French night at the Amsterdam Beat Club was a smashing success thanks to some very dedicated and talented individuals who know how to put on a great show. So to all the sceptics here in the Netherlands I’ve encountered over the years: it is possible to play an entire evening of French music far from the French border, make people dance, hold a twist contest, have a Dutch person announce everything in French and have people wonder about next time!
New music on Radio Oh La La includes Quebecois 60s groups Les Habits Jaunes and Les Hou-lops, Paris poppies Christine Pilzer and Elsa, and some hammond organ hits from Francis Lai.

Beating down the doldrums of February, join Franco friendly Guuzbourg of Filles Sourires fame and myself (DJ Natashka) for French Connections at cafe Festina Lente in Amsterdam on Sunday, February 26, Looiersgracht 40 b. To top it off, the food is good. So don’t hurry, but do come!

It’s time to party! DJ Natashka (aka Natasha – me) will be spinning “les tubes d’antan” (retro favourites) at the Amsterdam Beat Club on February 19. The Vive la France! evening will feature the grooves of DJs Piet Popcorn and Ir.Vendermeulen as well as the moves of Miss Beeby performing a burlesque show. Be there or be square!
