Get ready for an entire evening of French women rocking on stage! French-language stars Françoiz Breut and Vanessa Contenay-Quinones are coming to the Netherlands just for DJ Guuzbourg’s latest compilation, Filles Fragiles 2. The evening will be presented by the famous Dutch writer who coined the term “zuchtmeisje” (“girl that sighs”), Ronald Giphart and DJ Natashka (aka me) has been asked to DJ the show on 13 November at the Sugar Factory in Amsterdam.

Although the show was on a Sunday, had to be moved at the last minute while I was away celebrating Oktoberfest in Munich and was kinda of quiet, the mood was that of a huge group of friends getting together and partying! The Lovers got the blood pumping around the room, DJ Guuzbourg went all girl crazy, while DJ Natashka (me) cut it every now and then to crank the yé-yés up.

And The Lovers’ new album, Pardon my French will have a sticker on it, old skool. Sexy!

It was group fun at the Roter Salon, Berlin last Saturday! I took a train on Saturday from Amsterdam, did the gig and came back the next morning. Rock and roll! The French music that Germans like is quite different to what we all play here in Amsterdam, but nevertheless it was a great experience. Thanks again to Thomas Bohnet for letting me join in.

Thomas is currently working on Tour de France volume four, the fourth in his compilation series. As for the pictures, the second picture, the Volksbühne in former East Berlin is where the Roter Salon is nestled. There is also a ‘green salon’ on the other side of the theatre, but my sources tell me it’s not really hip and happening.

And since I was billed as coming from Amsterdam, Dutch people showed up! Cool.
